Our speaker for the February meeting is Judy Wherley. Ms. Wherley has her Horticulture degree from the College of DuPage, and is a certified arborist. Her presentation will center on the Spring garden calendar and is entitled, “Are you excited about getting back into the garden?” We will look at the calendar from March through June and she will help us map out the proper timing of our garden and landscape tasks. Ted Nyquist will present a program on Growing Rhododendrons and Azaleas in the Upper Midwest. Ted Nyquist is an avid gardener and lives in a home in Bartlett with his spouse of 50 years. The property of nearly 7 acres includes 4 acres which comprise the home, pond and gardens. April 25 Tri-Village Garden Club members will have a booth at the Earth Day celebration at  Pate Philips State Park, 2054 West Stearns Road in Bartlett.   We will have packets of milkweed seeds to support the mission to save monarchs.   Over the past few decades the monarch butterfly population has decreased by about 90 percent due to many threats, including the loss of their habitats.
