Garden Club Meeting

April 15, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Ted Nyquist will present a program on Growing Rhododendrons and Azaleas in the Upper Midwest. Ted Nyquist is an avid gardener and lives in a home in Bartlett with his spouse of 50 years. The property of nearly 7 acres includes 4 acres which comprise the home, pond and gardens. The garden itself, which has been developed over the last 25 years, is made up of several themed gardens that are connected by venues, gates and paths to form a homogenous viewing experience. Ted completed the Illinois Master Gardener program and was the past president of the Midwest Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society and is currently on their board. Ted will take us through the cultural requirements, and the steps of selecting, caring and maintaining the plants.

The Tri-Village Garden Club of Bartlett, Streamwood, and Hanover Park meets every third Wednesday at the Poplar Creek Public Library, 1405 S. Park, Streamwood, IL 60107. For additional information please contact Eileen Lucietto, President 630-289-4253; or Sandy Swenson, Vice President 630-837-0281 or http://trivillagegardenclub.org/wordpress
