April 25 Tri-Village Garden Club members will have a booth at the Earth Day celebration at Pate Philips State Park, 2054 West Stearns Road in Bartlett. We will have packets of milkweed seeds to support the mission to save monarchs. Over the past few decades the monarch butterfly population has decreased by about 90 percent due to many threats, including the loss of their habitats. The milkweed plant is critical to their survival. They rest on the plant, drink the flower’s high-energy nectar, lay their eggs on it and it nourishes their baby caterpillars. Help us save the monarchs by planting some milkweed this year and show that you care about your environment and nature.
